Parking analytics built on every session, violation and payment
Spot Analytics lives inside the Admin Portal and reads from the same event stream as the live map, the citations table and Spot Watch. Every parking session, camera read, violation, citation, payment and refund becomes a data point, so the numbers your finance team exports match what your operations team saw on the floor. There is no nightly sync to wait for and no second system to reconcile.
Analytics is organized as tabs: built-in system dashboards for live operations, historical operations, revenue, transactions and enforcement, plus AI Insights, the What If Calculator and any custom dashboards your team builds.
What you can see
Live operations
Live Operations shows current occupancy across every lot, active sessions with their duration and payment status, and violations as they are detected. The spot status mix breaks every stall into occupied, open, in violation, or ticket already written, so a supervisor can see where a lot is under pressure at a glance and send an officer where the problem is. Lot-by-lot breakdowns rank lots by occupancy or average dwell time.
Revenue and transactions
The Revenue dashboard tracks net settlement, gross collected, fees, taxes and refunds by source, so you can see what actually reached your account after processing, not just what was charged. Payment method breakdowns show how drivers prefer to pay. The Transactions tab is a complete ledger you can filter by date range, lot, product type and payment method, which gives finance an audit trail without a spreadsheet rebuild. If you split revenue with property owners through Automated Payouts, revenue can be filtered by payout.
Enforcement and compliance
The Enforcement dashboard follows every case from detection to payment: citation issuance rates, collection percentages over time, repeat offenders and unpaid citation aging. The funnel view traces sessions to violations to citations to paid or unpaid, and shows where overstays go uncited, where citations go unpaid, and which lots leak the most revenue. Whether violations are found by LPR cameras, aerial cameras or an officer using Scan to Cite, they land in the same funnel.
Occupancy and demand patterns
Hour-by-hour and day-by-day views show when demand really peaks. Each lot gets a 7-day by 24-hour heatmap, so you can compare weekdays with weekends and see sessions per hour and dwell time. Use those patterns to set rates, schedule staff and focus enforcement on the hours that need it.
From violations observed to citations paid
The question most operators bring to analytics is simple: how many unpaid or out-of-policy stays happened, and how many turned into revenue? Because detection, citations and payments share one record, Spot answers it directly instead of estimating from patrol logs.
The case study on this page shows why that matters. A university deployed Spot on a 16-space, 30-minute visitor-only lot. Manual patrols had averaged 7 violations per month. In the first month of automated enforcement, the system tracked 651 violations with zero human intervention, and every session was timestamped, photographed and appeal-ready. Analytics is where that gap between what happened and what was caught becomes visible.
Ask questions and model scenarios
AI Insights with Spot Bot
AI Insights pairs your dashboards with Spot Bot. Stage the charts you care about, ask questions in plain language about trends and performance, and get a narrative explanation backed by your organization's live data, along with recommendations. You can also generate a daily briefing to start each morning with a summary of what changed.
What If Calculator
The What If Calculator models citation revenue from your organization's actual violation, citation and payment data. Adjust three levers: the share of detected violations that become citations, the collection rate, and the fine amount. The projected impact updates as you move them. It is built for the budget meeting where someone asks what a policy change would be worth, and you can export scenarios for stakeholder review. To estimate the lift before you're a customer, try the savings calculator.
Dashboards and exports your team controls
The system dashboards cover the common questions. For everything else, build your own. Create a custom dashboard, add widgets from the gallery, then drag and resize tiles into the layout that fits your daily routine: an operations board led by live occupancy, a finance scorecard, or an event-day view. Custom reports let you compose Events or Occupancy charts with your own metrics, dimensions and filters and pin them next to the system tiles.
Date presets and custom ranges cover daily checks and incident investigations, and period comparison shows the change against a prior window. Click a bar to filter the whole dashboard by lot, product or time period, or drill down from a summary card to the underlying transactions or violations. When numbers need to leave the portal, export the current view to CSV or Excel, download transaction reports as Excel or PDF, or save any chart as an image for a presentation.
Access and security
Analytics permissions are role-based. Viewing dashboards, seeing revenue and dollar amounts, viewing enforcement data, and running the What If Calculator are separate permissions, so each person sees what their job requires. See role-based access. Spot is SOC 2 Type II compliant.
Analytics FAQ
- How often does Spot Analytics update?
- Data refreshes automatically as new sessions, violations and transactions occur. Operational metrics update every few minutes, and new transactions appear right away.
- What is the difference between gross and net revenue?
- Gross revenue is the total paid before fees. Net revenue, or settlement, is the amount deposited to your account after payment processing fees and platform charges.
- Can I build my own parking dashboards?
- Yes. Create a custom dashboard, add widgets from the gallery, and drag and resize them. Custom reports let you build Events or Occupancy charts with your own metrics, dimensions and filters.
- Can I export parking data for finance or outside analysis?
- Yes. Export the current dashboard view to CSV or Excel, download transaction reports as Excel or PDF, and save individual charts as images.
- Who on my team can see revenue numbers?
- Only people with the revenue metrics permission. Analytics access is role-based, with separate permissions for dashboards, revenue, enforcement data and the What If Calculator.
